We sailed on the Oceana for a week last September from Southampton to Cork, Amsterdam, Brugge, Le Havre and St. Peter Port in Guernsey. Having sailed with P&O a few times before we knew what to expect and we were not disappointed! We only had an inside cabin but it was perfectly fine for us as we never spend long in our cabin anyway. The ship was, as always, spotless and the crew seemed very happy and always had a smile for us. The food was stunning and our table mates were a fantastic bunch of people with whom we spent many hours both before and after dinner chatting over drinks in one of the many bars. The ports on this cruise were really nice for a week, we especially enjoyed Cobh, it's so pretty there with all the coloured houses. Many of the passengers were to be found in the "Titanic Bar" before re-boarding the ship. On Guernsey we chose to take an excursion to Sark, which was evidently a fantastic choice. You get around the Island by horse drawn carriage! It has a wonderfully laid back feel to it and the rugged scenery really makes for a very enjoyable day. The ferry over and back was a bit "up and down" but that just added to the fun. Back on board we enjoyed the shows every evening and I have to say the standard was very high. We also enjoyed the live music around the ship which created a really nice atmosphere in the different bars and public spaces. All in all a great little cruise on a great ship. |
