The cruise ship itself was excellent. Our stateroom attendant was very courteous and made us animals out of towels which really impressed my mum. The food was excellent and the ice show was exceptional. We went on an organised tour to Rome, it was a half day but with the traffic we were only at St Peters for 30 minutes,
it took 10 minutes to walk out of the bus terminal.
What did spoil it was the lack of organisation as we disembarked. We were given the wrong coloured luggage tags but we didn't know this. If it had not been for a very nice couple we had met we would still be standing and waiting at the dock. I asked an attendant what to do and she said whatever you like. It seems we had been given labels for independant travellers. Once at the airport it was a free for all and I could not find a RCI rep to ask so myself and my 80 year old mother were aimlessly wandering around Barcellona airport. This has put me off travelling with RCI again. I also heard an American lady arguing she had been charged $200 for a trip she had not taken. This was mums first cruise and was booked because she is 80 this month and I wanted a special and memorable cruise for her, although we enjoyed it for the most part the fiasco at the end really made it memorable for the wrong reasons it was a very stressfull day. |
