This was our first cruise and we loved it. It was really Xmassy and the staff made it a very festive ship. The Italians take Xmas seriously. Good points: - the food, an amazing Midnight Mass with tableaux using staff and passengers in the theatre, the buffet magnifique afterwards, lots of little gifts left on pillows, suprise hamper in our cabin on Xmas Eve full of nuts, fruit, chocs, attentive kids club staff, excellent daily news. Not so good points: over priced shore excursions, rain followed us for 3-4 days, everything shut on land because it was Xmas (for some reason we never thought of this!), except for Libya and Tunis which opened up places especially for us, the British and American passengers who complained constantly and loudly about everything(food, noise, cabins, plumbing) and made us cringe, swimming pools too cold to use even though covered, the need to listen to every announcement in 6-7 languages. But these could all be lived with. Will certainly use Costa again if I can figure out how to use their changed website to sort out flights, which seem to have been removed. |
