Celebrity Cruises have launched the 4th ship in their innovative Solstice Class, the 2886 passenger Celebrity Silhouette, in a grand ceremony in Hamburg, Germany. This premium fleet of cruise ships includes Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Solstice & Celebrity Eclipse.

P&O’s latest ship Adonia arrives in Southampton for the first time

Built in 2001, but renovated and improved in 2011, Adonia, has everything you could expect from a modern ship.

P&O's Adonia arrived into her homeport Southampton earlier today. She is docked at the Mayflower Cruise Terminal where tomorrow, Saturday 21st May 2011, she will be named in a spectacular ceremony. Her Godmother was chosen to be the world famous Welsh singer Dame Shirley Bassey DBE. Dame Shirley will be accompanied by the actor Hugh Bonneville, who has recently played in “Doctor Who” and the ITV’s drama “Downton Abbey”.

Dry-docked in Trieste, Costa Favolosa is waiting for its first trials

The youngest ship in the fleet of the Europe’s number one cruising company is dry-docked in Trieste until middle May.

This turns out to be a fantastic opportunity for people, living in Trieste to enjoy the ship. All residents are invited to the grand event on 2nd July in Plaza Unità d’Italia.

During her stay, the ship will be coated and cleaned, being ready for her first open-sea tests in later May. The tests will include checking the engines, ship’s systems and machinery.

Flagship Queen Mary 2 introduces 3-D films and new interactive Insights Programmes

 

On 15th April the Cunard cruises announced that during the Queen Mary 2's seventh transatlantic season, launching on 26th April 2011, the passengers will have the chance to experience a new dimension in entertainment. Onboard there will be 3D films in association with RealD, as well as dynamic RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) "street theatre" performances.
