L’Anse aux Meadows was declared a National Park in 1968 and subsequently a World Heritage Site in 1978. This was due to the enduring patience and work of Helge and Anne Ingstad who excavated a Viking settlement. The coastline of L’Anse aux Meadows is nothing but spectacular with huge icebergs and great rocky cliffs making this part of the world a fascinating and breathtaking place to visit.
