Typical Excursion

Ancient Bali:  First we journey to the village of Tenganan where we visit the Bali Aga people whose traditions and way of life have not changed since pre-Hindu times.  Then we head east to Karagasem which suffered lava damage in 1963 from the eruption of Mt. Aging.  Here we visit the Royal Palace and see first hand the blend of European and Eastern architecture.  We are also privileged to watch a performance by a local dance company and have ample time for refreshments and taking photographs. Arts and Crafts:  A wonderful opportunity to observe the making of authentic arts and crafts in Bali.  We begin at the village of Bona where they make splendid bamboo furniture, then on to the village of Kemenck where they produce the most amazing wooden carvings.  From here we make our way to the village of Peliatan to observe the wonderful art of Balinese painting.  Finally we end our journey in the village of Celuk, famed for its silver and gold jewellery.
