Semarang is the capital of central Java, split in two halves the north lays across the plain coast, and the southern part is hilly. Semarang is a busy trading city where most of the countries offices and industrial estates are situated.
The Dieng Plateau: We depart the port and drive through the scenic mountain ranges where we stop at the Ambarawa train Museum, with its collection of German and Dutch Locomotives from the colonial era. We then board our own steam engine for a journey through the rice fields up to the village of Bedono. From here we rejoin our coach for our return journey to the ship.
