Port description
Situated on the northwest coast of Japan on Suringa Bay Shimizu is a major commercial port and one of the largest deep-sea fishing centres in Japan. Places of interest are the Pine Groves of Miho, the beautiful Ryuge Temple which contains a fern palm believed to be over 100 years old, also visit the nearby Nippon-Daira Plateau.
