Santander is a city full of museums, art galleries and historical monuments. Visit the 12th century crypt, the Roman Ruins and the Museum of Fine Arts which contain works by Goya.
Typical Excursion
Highlights of Santander: We drive to the Faro Lighthouse for magnificent views of the coastline and rock formations. From here we pass many of the islands famous beaches on our way to the Magdalena peninsula where the royal Palace is situated. We then head to the new Palace of Congresses and the Plaza Porticada where we can see the Church of El Cristo. Bilbao and Guggenheim Museum: We depart the port for our 1 hour drive to Bilbao, on route our guide will point out the main sights. Once in Bilbao we visit the El Arenal a favourite promenade, St Nicholas Church, the Cathedral of Santiago and the plaza Nueva. Once back on our coach we pass the Guggenheim Museum one of the largest modern art museums in Europe, we are also privileged to take a private tour of this famous art museum.
