Port description
Cannanore is situated in the state of Kerala and is one of this region’s most important towns. Used throughout history as a trading port, and thrown into the political arena in the 15th century Cannanore was discovered by the Portuguese, this port has always been important to the spice trade. There are historical monuments everywhere including St. Angelo fort built for the Portuguese Viceroy in 1505.
