Coastal Cruise to Santa Margherita and Sestri Levante: A private boat and a local guide will meet you at the pier in Portofino to begin this wonderful day exploring the Tigullian Bay with its resorts. Genoa City: The city is well known all over the world not only for its port and commercial activities, but also as a genteel seaside resort, a town proud of its history and, according to legend, the home of Christopher Columbus. Once in the town center, you can admire the most important monuments of this ancient maritime republic: the broad neoclassical facade of the Ducal Palace (outside), the Cathedral of San Lorenzo (inside), the Chiesa del Jesu (inside) with two paintings by Rubens and the 19th-century Carlo Felice Theater located in Piazza De Ferrari. In Piazza San Matteo the guide will show you the church with inscriptions commemorating the deeds of the Doria family. The tour will end at the expo area, where the famous aquarium stands.
