Jewels of the North: The tour starts at Akureyri and heads to the “Waterfalls of the Gods” (Godafoss), named after Thorgeit who threw the imagery of the Norse gods into the waterfall and declared that from then on Iceland would be a Christian nation. Sights of Akureyri: This tour gives you a close up view of “The Waterfalls of the Gods”. You can follow gravel tracks to some impressive viewing points and take fantastic pictures. We return to the old town of Akureyri once under the influence of the Danish Crown, to enjoy the impressive buildings, restaurants, shopping and cafes.
