Rothesay is simply steeped in history, from being declared a Royal Burgh in 1400 by King Robert III to its fantastic plethora of architecture. Places of historical interest are St. Mary’s chapel, a medieval church which was a cathedral in the 17th century and the Winter Gardens with its Grade A listed building.
