Rotterdam has been an important port and city for over 100 years, due to its location in the south west, where the Rhine and other rivers all meet and empty into the North Sea.  Places to visit are the Space tower and the great shopping precinct at Lijnbaan, also Delfshaven where the pilgrims set sail for the shores of America.

 
 

Typical Excursion

Historical Rotterdam:  We take a 2 ½ hour sightseeing tour of famous Rotterdam which includes the Weena building, the Cube Houses, Coolsingel Plaza, the Town Hall and the impressive Meulana Mosque.  We then head to Delfshaven which is popular with both visitors and locals.Kinderdijk Windmills:  We head through Rotterdam to the 18th century Kinderdijk windmills which have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  We then head to Delfshaven to visit the church where the Pilgrim Fathers took their last service in 1620 before leaving to sail for the Americas.
