Port description
Colon is the second largest city in Panama, situated on the Atlantic coast at the Caribbean end of the Panama Canal. It was made a duty-free port in 1953 and is the world's largest Free Trade Zone outside Hong Kong. Colon is not the most beautiful of towns but never the less you get a lovely warmth to the town when entering the town. The harbour of Colon does provide a very useful starting point for travel by boat to different Caribbean destinations.
