Cadiz is thought to be the oldest continuously occupied city in the West.  The cathedral itself dates back to 1722.  From Cadiz you can travel to Seville, Alcazar, Maria Luisa Park and the Great Cathedral with its famed altar decorated with 4,000 pounds of gold.

 
 

Typical Excursion

Cadiz Walking Tour:  Firstly we visit the historic town centre of Cadiz and take in some of the famous sights including the Liberty Assembly monument and the neoclassical Provincial Deputation building.  From here we continue to the Archaeological Museum and the 13th century baroque style cathedral.  Finally we stop for tapas and wine and to enjoy the old town ambience.Jerez Sherry and Dancing Horses:  We leave the port and journey to Jerez de la Frontera where we visit the Gonzales Byas Sherry Cellars for sherry tasting.  From here we venture to the famous Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Arts to watch one of the most prized shows in the world, the Andalusian classical dressage performed to Spanish music.
