Flam is also home to Norway’s oldest church built in 1667, which still has its traditionally decorated walls.
Typical Excursion
Flam to Godvangen Overland: We start our journey climbing 2,700 ft. above sea level and board the famous Flaam railway. We pass through the Flaam Valley and enjoy the panoramic views of White Water Rivers and waterfalls. Train to Vatnahalsen: We start at the pier which is also the railway station, where we can enjoy the most dramatic railway journey in the world. The Flaam railway is only 20 km long and climbs 867 metres above sea level through 20 tunnels. We also stop at Kjosfossen waterfall where we leave the train to take photographs.
