Typical Excursion
Peninsula Valdes:
Depart from the pier and drive north across the flat Patagonian countryside before entering Peninsula Valdes. Peninsula Valdes resembles an island attached to the continent by a 25 mile long strip of land which, at some places, is only 4 miles wide. Drive along a barren gravel road to either Caleta Valdes, Punta Delgada or Punta Norte to visit the only continental habitat of sea elephants, that can weigh one to three tons and measuring up to 18 feet long.
Punta Tombo Penguin Rockery:
Punta Tombo, located approximately 100 miles south of Puerto Madryn, is world renowned as one of the finest spots to view Magellan penguins and is the largest penguin nesting ground in continental South America.
