we stayed in the atlantis hotel for 2 nights and this was nice have staye in nicer 5* in dubai but still a nice stay. Brillance of the seas deffantly needs a refurb beginning to look drab and the food overall was very poor your very sqaushed in the main dinning room and the food is very similar every nite and quality is poor. the sun loungers are falling apart many with holes in them. the cruise ship was very disappointing will def go on new ships from now on

Recently back from our 12 day cruise from Barcelona - Venice. All the ports of call were lovely Villefranche (Monte Carlo) - Livorno(Florence) - Citavecchi (Rome) - Naples (capri) - Venice (fab) - Spilt - Corfu. Lots of lovely destinations on a fabulous comfortable, stable ship. Decor is all lovely. Staff are very friendly and helpful. CCabins (balcony) were fine, balcony a little ssmall but ok. Food was to good, we both put on weight. Entertainment was very good and varied. Beatles and Frankie Valley tribute bands were very good, as were the Circ del Soleil. We were a group of 8and I know we all enjoyed the ship and the cruise. Only sad that the wine is so expensive at about

Just back from a cruise down the med and round the greek islands on Royal Caribbeans Brilliance of the Seas leaving Barcalona on Sept 14th 2008. We made our own flight arrangments out of Luton mainly to avoid the nightmare known as Heathrow. Great move, it seems that RCI use all sorts of airlies. We meet 2 couples who flew from Manchester, 1 via Frankfurt with a 4 hour stop over and the other via Amsterdam with a 5 hour stop over, plus, Heathrow managed to loose baggage for some couples on route from USA. Our itinery took us to Villafranche for Nice and Monaco, on to Florance and then Civitavecchia for Rome. After being out all day in Barcelona followed by a good tour of Nice, Eze and Monaco, followed the next day by a visit to the leaning tower at piza and then a long day into Rome on an excellent tour, we were very glad of a day at sea. We then went on to Mykonos,Ephesus, Athens and Santorini before we got anther day at sea to catch our breath. All 4 ports had good tours, we particulary enjoyed the one to the Ephesus site. Following the sea day we should have been in Naples and had planned a visit to Pompei which we were realy looking forward too. RCI cancelled Naples 8 weeks before our cruise and subsituted Palermo instead quoting port congestion as the reason. Sorry RCI but port bookings are made many months ahead, just look on the port websites and you can usually see who is there 6-9 months away. Also Palermo is a very poor substitute, to quote my Sicilian friends it has little of interest and is dirty. We were still spotting rubish in the water a mile or so out to sea. Brilliance is beautifull ship with some really stunning area's, we particullarly enjoyed the schooner bar and the colony, latitudes coffe bar was great. The food was always exelent but the portions in the main dinning room could have been larger with a decent serving of veg. We had a great server who managed to get in extra supplies. Staff generally were helpfull and friendly some were very good, we never came across a bad one. The only things that tainted this cruise was bad service from the RCI office in both USA and UK. I sent e-mails to both asking questions, despite proding them I never received a reply. If you have a question phone them it might take some time but they have to answer, don't bother e-mailing they appear to just ignore them. My second gripe is with very rude people. I read a complaint about rude southern europeans, on this trip they were Spanish speaking. They seem to believe that if compares or announcers are not speaking Spanish they can just shout above them. Also on this trip were a few rude americans who insisted on wearing baseball caps at the dinner table or had to be first on the bus, boat or what ever and would push and shove to make sure they were. Fortunatly they are far from the average. We enjoyed this cruise and had a great time and would happily cruise with RCI again if they were going where we wanted to go. If it came to choice between P&O and RCI over the same route my choice would be P&O, The service is slightly better, we prefer the all ship dress code and there seems to be more of a comunity feel.

very nice ship, cruised with Costa previous year on the Costa Victoria has this was our first cruise we had nothing to compare it to!,both were very nice in all areas of service. we have since cruised again onboard Costas ''Atlantica'' this too was a nice ship, and we are now 9 weeks away from our next cruise{Panama canal}with Princess on the Coral,my feeling is that most off the big cruise ships,of the better class!there is not much to complain about on any of them, they are all different, and all equally luxurious in different areas,1 may have the edge in an area where the other does not and visa versa, would we like them to be carbon copies!then the choice would not be there if they were all alike,to be able to try different things and experiences in all things is what makes life so unpredictable. enjoy...whatever your choice of ship or destination.
