Costa Fortuna is a large cruise liner from the ever-popular Costa Cruises fleet, and sets new standards in cruise ship luxury. The ship is decorated in traditional elegance, boasting a range of attractive works of art – visit Costa Fortuna’s central hall for example, decorated with scale models of Costa’s twenty-six vessels.
Costa Fortuna features a total of 1,358 cabins, which all boast comfortable bedding, stylish furnishings and a wide range of modern amenities. Enjoy television in your room, as well as air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Bathrobes and slippers are complimentary.
Guests will also have the option of upgrading to a luxury suite for their cruise on Costa Fortuna. This would be the perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, and upgrade options available include private balconies, and large, glamorous bathrooms.
Children will be well entertained on Costa Fortuna, with a virtual reality suite and a range of games consoles on offer at the Squok Club. There is also a dedicated children’s pool onboard Costa Fortuna.
Combine this with facilities as diverse as a cinema, sports equipment and a number of stylish restaurants, and you’ll be coming close to picturing the magical experience offered by cruises on Costa Fortuna.
Costa Fortuna boasts a wealth of onboard entertainments, including live music, comedy and stage shows. The eleven bars onboard offer a broad range of different atmospheres, ranging from lively dance floors to a sophisticated Cognac & Cigar Bar. Pay a visit to the casino, or take in a show at Costa Fortuna’s three-tier theatre.
There are four restaurants onboard, which between them offer a great selection of both local and international dishes. For a real treat, make reservations at the exclusive Club Conte Grande 1927. Here guests can enjoy gourmet dishes prepared by highly trained staff.
You’ll be able to find four swimming pools on Costa Fortuna, including a children’s pool and an outdoor pool with a retractable cover. With six jacuzzis and a toboga as well, kids and grown-ups alike will be delighted with the excellent facilities provided.
If you’re looking for a little relaxation during your cruise on Costa Fortuna, then head over to the Wellbeing Centre – here you’ll find a fully equipped gym, as well as numerous treatment rooms, a sauna and a Turkish bath. Costa Fortuna also boasts a multipurpose sports pitch, and even an outdoor jogging track.

Overall not a bad experience for the price but beware of your on-board account when cruising with Costa. They do NOT accept your credit card before boarding so you will have to stand in-line along with all the other passengers once on-board BEFORE you can spend any money! I spent a total of 6 hours spread over 2 days trying to set-up my on-board account. (The cruise only lasted 5 days!). Also, the Reception does NOT set-up your account. You have to wait around or stand in-line in various lounges throughout the ship until you can be attended to. Needless to say I will not be cruising with Costa again.
We had dreamed of cruising on this ship since seeing her berthed in Barcelona on our first cruise on Airtours Carousel. Costa Fortuna is simply stunning and the wow factor hits as soon as you embark. We booked a balcony cabin which was very spacious, comfortable, well equipped with lots of storage. Our cabin steward was wonderful as were all the other staff. The food was OK, some nights good some nights not to our taste. The food in the Lido was usually just lukewarm. However the pasta stations were excellent as you got freshly cooked pasta. Same at breakfast with the omelette station. Our ports of call were Katakolon, Heraklion and Tripoli. The highlight of the cruise was to witness the eclipse in the middle of the Med. Many people had booked this cruise just for this, however this was not the case for us but what a bonus. It was awesome. A very moving emotional feeling. The majority of pax are Italian and they can be quite rude. You have to learn to live with that and bite your tongue. To summarise we had a wonderful cruise and I would definitely recommend Costa. We are now thinking of Costa Classica for Feb for cruising around Dubai.
