Celebrity Constellation - Celebrity Cruises
Fondly christened ‘Connie’ by its regular cruisers, the 1,950-passenger Celebrity Constellation set sail in 2002 as one of Celebrity Cruises' Millennium class. This cruiser is one of the more daring in the Celebrity range, with various eccentric design flourishes in the interior of the ship – there’s the ‘Word Thief’ sculpture, a curious kneeling figure composed out of strings of words, and the sea-view elevator banks. There are also the decorative figures by the bathrooms – a signature Gorilla, hipster, and a shapely nude. Though, aside from these touches, there remains all the standard fixtures which made the boat so popular, and on your Celebrity Constellation cruises, you’ll discover the attractions all in place: there’s the great French cuisine, the delicious Tuscan grill, Martini Bar, and the Celebrity theatre, as well as swimming pool and indoor solarium. Celebrity Constellation is for those looking for a cruise on a nuanced, interesting, but comfortingly familiar kind of vessel.
Facilities on Celebrity Constellation
On board a cruise with Celebrity Constellation, you’ll find the main culinary area is the two-deck, 1,170-seat San Marco Dining Room. Menus are appetizers, soups & salads, entrees and desserts, and dinner is served course-by-course over an unhurried two-hour-plus period. Celebrity’s VP of Culinary Operations, Jacques Van Staden, whose signature dish is meatballs, oversees all this. For vegetarians, there are great options - vegetable and ricotta cheese stuffed conches and vegetable paella. If you’re looking for a casual breakfast, head to the Seaside Cafe, Constellation's top-ship buffet venue. For an ocean panorama, there’s the Seaview Bar, and for a meat-feast after you’ve swam, try the Poolside Grill. Then, there are the upscale restaurants, Ocean Liners and the Tuscan Grill, where you’ll find all manner of continental delicacies. For coffees, head over to the Café al Bacio, where you’ll be treated Italian-style café.
Evening entertainment on your Celebrity Constellation cruises can be delightfully varied. There’s the Celebrity Theatre, where you’ll find traditional Vegas-style revues, with Broadway and pop hits. There’s the Rendezvous Lounge, where bands perform hits from the 40s and 50s; the lively Martini Bar, where you’ll find the hues are phosphorescent green, with icy surfaces. The central focus when socialising on-board is the Grand Foyer, a three-deck high atrium where you’ll discover a comfortable lounge and bars. For kids and teens, there is the age-appropriate Fun Factory, where activities suitable for those between the ages of 3-17 are arrayed across the ship.
On your cruises with Celebrity’s Constellation, you’ll be looking to relax – and you’ll be able to do just that in the AquaSpa: a 25,000-square-foot complex that features a glass-and-steel solarium. There is also a midship pool area, with two large pools and several additional hot tubs!
