Having got an excellent deal on 2 back-to-back cruises (the first a week our of San Juan round the Caribbean, the second 12 days from San Juan to Sothampton as Summit repositioned itself), we had a fabulous time. This was our second time with Celebrity (we cruised the Caribbean aboard Millennium in 2005) and we really rated the company after that cruise, but this time we were not quite so impressed as before. We found the food in the main dining room was often lukewark or cold when it came and the alternative dining options were limited and poor - there are only so many times you fancy pasta, stir-fry or sushi. Princess cruises' alternatives put Celebrity to shame, frankly. We got a great deal on Concierge class and enjoyed the 'extras' we were given, including several bottles of champagne in our stateroom and canapes every night. The entertainment on Summit was the best of our cruising experience, overseen by cruise director Gary Walker - for our money, the best in the business. He and his team made us feel that they knew us personally and by the end of the voyage we were almost tearful as we left them! Celebrity need to look hard at their start and finish organisation; the transfer from flight to hotel process at the beginning was shockingly bad, the more so as we'd all been travelling for over 24 hours at that point. Being herded like cattle and made to stand for nearly an hour at San Juan airport close to midnight was a horrible experience, and not worthy of the premium cruise market Celebrity is proud to belong to. Overall, however, it was a cruise to remember. Anyone who enjoys cruising should go transatlantic at least once, and the repositioning cruise is a great way to do it.

5 star ship and service, will never forget the experience as it was our 25th weddind anniverary. A bottle of champange was awaiting us in our cabin, cabins cleaned 2 a day, and bed folded down and a note wishing you goodnight with a chocolate on top , even stuff for flossing your teeth in your cabin i think all the littlethings go to make your cruise memorable. the facilties are brill the theater is west end size and standard with professional actors and singers. If your ever get the chance to go on Celebrity Summit GRAB IT with both hands
