On any of its diverse itineraries, the Costa Europa provides an onboard experience that is the best of Italy--from its warm, Mediterranean hospitality to its world-renowned Italian cuisine. That's what Costa's Italian Style Cruising is all about. As you sail toward exotic cruise ports, you may find yourself sipping a frothy cup of cappuccino or learning how to make the perfect pesto. After a day in port, indulge in fine dining Italian-style before you dance the night away in the Crystal Club Disco, or try your luck in the Casino Monte Carlo. Two whirlpools, a sports center, and a pool equipped with a sliding roof add to the fun.

Just arrived home from an 18 night cruise aboard the Costa Europa from Savonna to Dubai. 14th Nov to 2nd Dec 2009. What a shambles this trip was. We booked this cruise for the destinations as did a lot of the other English speaking passengers we talked to. There were few happy ones there as most of us had more than several complaints to off load. Cost of drinks were 6E for a beer or a cocktail plus surcharge. The photographer was kept busy, we had more than enough pictures taken at meal times and they even went on the tours to take photo's and they wanted 15E each for them. Tours were well overpriced. A trip to petra was around 130E (Thomsons were charging 75E for the same trip) The food although generally nice would have been better if hot and not tepid, oh except the pasta dishes they were very hot. The destinations were poor. Naples was worse than a inner city slum and we docked there on a Sunday when the shops were closed. Several of the destinations were poor and again we docked when there were religious celebrations stopping shops from opening. Customer services were really rude to me a couple of times not explaining to me properly the answer I wanted. The lack of reps on disembarkation and at the airport was attrocious. You were left to get on a coach or find your own way round the airport. There are a few more but I can only go on for so long. One good point was that the waiting and bar staff were good. After speaking to a few people it was agreed that if this was your first cruise you would be put off going on another one. One thing for sure we will never go with Costa again
This was our first cruise and we loved it. It was really Xmassy and the staff made it a very festive ship. The Italians take Xmas seriously. Good points: - the food, an amazing Midnight Mass with tableaux using staff and passengers in the theatre, the buffet magnifique afterwards, lots of little gifts left on pillows, suprise hamper in our cabin on Xmas Eve full of nuts, fruit, chocs, attentive kids club staff, excellent daily news. Not so good points: over priced shore excursions, rain followed us for 3-4 days, everything shut on land because it was Xmas (for some reason we never thought of this!), except for Libya and Tunis which opened up places especially for us, the British and American passengers who complained constantly and loudly about everything(food, noise, cabins, plumbing) and made us cringe, swimming pools too cold to use even though covered, the need to listen to every announcement in 6-7 languages. But these could all be lived with. Will certainly use Costa again if I can figure out how to use their changed website to sort out flights, which seem to have been removed.
Costa Europa is a nice large airy ship and the biggest thing that stood out for us was the quality of food. It was DIVINE. The entertainment was not the best we'd seen but a great effort was still made. I couldnt fault the service either as i found the staff extremely friendly and attentive.
