After reading the previous review, I felt I must comment as we had a fabulous cruise on the Jewel. The first impression was rather gaudy of all the colours and decor of the ship, but actually in the end, I thought it was beautiful. The cabin was pretty much what you expect on a decent cruise line and I can't comment on the excursions as we don't take excursions - we like to get off and travel under our own steam as I think you get much better value that way. Food - the best aboard any ship - I have done Carnival, Royal Caribbean, P & O, Costa and Princess and I would say for choice NCL was the best. It was great to be able to say, let's do Japanese or Italian tonight. The food in the formal restaurants was also good. Entertainment - most of the time this was pretty good, along the lines of most lines, however the final Cirque de (something!) on the last night quite honestkly took our breath away - it was stupendous - quite easily the best show I have ever seen on a ship and I would have paid money to see something that good. During the day the entertainmnet wasn't brillian, however no owrse than any other line. Service - great - really fantastic waiters and bar staff. Other guests - I know the previosu reviewer went on about other guests, but I say live and let live. We met some fantastic people on board and have no complaints at all about the ship. In fact we are going again on NCL in Septmeber 2007 - along the Panama Canal in the Pearl - can't wait! Please try NCL and don't rely on the previous review!!!
