Royal Caribbean's ship, Freedom of the Seas is unlike any other. Freedom of the Seas is the largest, most grand ship ever built. Even larger than the QM2, Freedom of the Seas weighs a whopping 158,000 tonnes, and has an occupancy of 3,600 guests. Royal Caribbean Freedom of the Seas has new features, but has the same great feel and she has many of the same amenities found on many of the other ships in the Royal Caribbean cruise line. Freedom of the Seas features the first ever onboard surf park at sea; cantilevered whirlpools that extend 3.7 metres (12 feet) beyond the sides of the ship; the H2O Zone water park, complete with interactive sculpture fountains, ground geysers and a cascading waterfall; a rock-climbing wall, with eleven routes and a central spire you can swing around; and so much more! Extensive WiFi capabilities and connectivity for mobile phones are also available, as well as flat-screen TVs in every stateroom.

This was a beautifull ship and the Ittinery was lovely,San Juan,Charlotte Amaile and St Thomas, horse riding, turtle viewing and just walking on a fab beach.Balcony room for us every time, promenade shopping pretty much the same on RCI ships.......Rock climbing wall excellent, amongst other things.Unfortunatly for us allthough the weather was hot and humid.the wind near Miami was hindering the hols. The rock climbing wall was closed..........too dangerous!.Sailed on THE Voyager Sept 2006......again lovely Ittinery.the Med.Rome,Malta etc..food was better on the first cruise.......hotter! Our only little gripe is we do miss our veggies.......good english collection of veggies.......not just a small floret of broccoli/cauli etc........We are constantly looking for our next cruise with RCI and will most proberly do the Canaries........however...........we think at the moment the prices are way too expensive for a no fly cruise.some
The whole experience from start to finish was excellent. Just the sheer enormity of the ship will take your breath away! I have to talk about the facilities first - the whole concept of a street running through the center of the ship with bars, pizzeria, shops, ice cream parlour etc is brilliant. It gave the ship a really good community feel. The ice rink was alot bigger than i expected (although not full sized). By day you can use the ink and by night they perform very skilled ice shows which were very enjoyable. There are also shows in the theatre which is huge i should add! There is a surf simulator on the sport deck which is called Flowrider - this is basically a 'wavy hill' if you like, with water being forced at quite a high speed up toward you while you 'surf' down it. The kids were loving it and it tends to get quite busy. Its fun to watch too! I really enjoyed the gym and spa facilities onboard though i didnt use them as much as i should have!! The choice of food was very good and as usual on cruises, we ate too much! Our cabin was an inside, it was very roomy and the decor was very stylish. ALl in all i really enjoyed it - the staff were helpful, the facilities were extensive, the entertainment was of a high standard and the food was really good. Well done Royal Caribbean!
You won't believe your eyes when you see this ship! It really is amazing and truly stunning! There is so much onboard it would be easy not to step foot on the shore at all! Come the last day of our trip i didnt want to leave - my cabin had become way to comfy and the staff were practically our friends!! I was constantly amazed by the attention to detail the entire ship held. There are some amazing sculpturs, art and wall decorations. The decor on board really does envoke your senses. Nothing is tacky yet nothing too posh to touch. Our cabin was roomy, we had an inside that overlooked the shopping mall - so you pay an inside price and get a view too. The bathroom was well designed and made the best use of space. One of our favourite evening haunts was the Viking Crown Lounge - great cocktails and nice music and we even enjoyed dancing the night away in the Crypt which was a very classy nightclub. Activities-wise there was plenty to try, the flow rider was fun and i really enjoyed ice skating. I felt like a teenager again! My husband enjoyed getting a chance to beat me at golf (although on a smaller scale). The food was really delicious and dangerously tempting, i daren't step on the scales yet! I really couldnt fault the service at all either. This was the best holiday i ever took. PS The Caribbean was stunning as usual!!!
I was very fortunate to be invited on this one night cruise by my friend who works in the industry. I was not expecting the night to be as good as it was. My reservation was because of the stereotypical image you expect from a cruise. I was wrong, I had a fantastic night, the staff where wonderful and the ship itself quite unbelievable. Well done to all the staff at Ideal you where great!
