My wife and I travelled on the "Legend" from the 13/1/08 until27/1/08. The first week was great. The second week several hundreds of loud mouthed, ignorant, ill mannered and aggressive Spanish speaking people with a lot of children who should have been in school at that time, boarded the ship at Sant Domingo. We were told that they paid a reduced price for the cruise. a case of putting bums on seats. My wife and I regularly have 3,4 , or more holidays a year. Never have we come across people such as these. Not only for us but fellow travellers aboard, agreed that their holidays had been spoilt by these peoples. We were interested in the "Legends" far east cruise next year, but after this years experience with "Royal Caribbean", we have decided to book with "Travelsphere" instead. We know by experience that "Travelsphere" will not drop their standards just to fill empty cabins on their boats. I resent very much paying "Royal Caribbean" top dollar for what turned out be for us and others a spoiled cruise. Please, do not send us any more advertising literature, you have no chance of selling us another holiday !!
A wonderful Itinery...beautiful ship...excellent service..and fantastic Value for money.
Our cruise on the Legend in September 2006 was for us a fabulous experience. We live in Southampton so using the online check-in meant that 40 minutes after closing our front door we were opening our stateroom door. The staff on board the Legend were wonderful - friendly and helpful at all times - and the great organisation by the company ensured that shore visits went smoothly. Our table companions were really great company and we have kept in touch. We will definitley repeat the experience with Royal Carribbean. Our only criticism was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the staterooms.
This was the second time with Royal Caribbean, I wanted to try a ship going out of Southampton this time so chose a mini break on the Legend of the Sea's, sparkling after its refit. Yet again I was pleasantly surprised at the level of service and friendliness of the crew, these guys just go from strength to strength. I found the access on board really good as a wheelchair user, the only thing lacking on this ship was pool hoists and power assisted doors on the disabled cabins and facilities compared to my last cruise with RC.
We sailed on the "Legend of the Seas" for 14 nights last summer and had a fantastic cruise. The itinerary was the "Classic Mediterranean" and was the perfect choice for a Med cruise. The weather was a bit dodgy when we set sail from Southampton but the following morning the sun began to shine and never stopped for the whole 2 weeks. We chose an inside cabin on deck 2, which was surprisingly a good size and really quiet. The ship had been through a re-furbisment just a few months before and was looking really good. I've said it before and I'll say it again.....sailing from Southampton is a brilliant way to cruise, NO FLYING, hurrah. We live on the Surrey boarders, so it's less than an hour to Southampton which means no early morning starts. The first night at dinner was amazing, we met our table mates, all 8 of them, and they were a fantastic bunch. I've got to say we relished the thought of going to dinner every night, for the food and for the company. Our waitress, Julia, was brilliant and extremely funny, giving us her insight on the next days port of call! The food selection was really good and you could eat basically what you wanted. If you wanted 2 puddings then you got 2 puddings, no questions asked. The ports of call on this cruise were fantastic and this was one of the main reasons for choosing this cruise, as well as the fact that we have sailed with Royal Caribbean before and this was a members cruise, which mean't we got lots of goodies in the room every other night. We really enjoyed Gibraltar and the cruise line laid on a really good excursion up the "Rock" and to the "Apes Den", this excursion set the standard for the rest of the cruise, with fabulous trips in Rome, Corsica, South of France, Barcelona and Vigo. They were also very good value for money. Having paid only a very small amount for this cruise it was amazing value for money, considering the standard of the food, entertainment and service. Our cabin steward was extremely attentive and worked very hard the whole two weeks. Right from the start we felt that we had received exellent service from Ideal Cruising and also from Royal Caribbean, with booklets of information about our cruise and also the fact that we could go onto the Royal Caribbean website and pre-book all our excursions, a great way to budget for your holiday. I have to say that this was one of the best cruises we have been on, from an overall excellence point of view. Even though it wasn't the QM2 it certainly made us realise that we will use Royal Caribbean many times in the future. They have a very good product and are very good at delivering it to "Joe Public". I would heartily recommend this cruise to anyone looking for an all round excellent cruise to the Med with no flying involved.
