Thomson Destiny - Thomson Cruises
Thomson Cruises’ Thomson Destiny is a medium sized luxury cruise liner. Onboard this 215m-cruise ship, guests can take advantage of a wide range of entertainments, from sports facilities through to themed bars and nightclubs.
Staterooms offer all the comforts and amenities you would expect from a stay at a top hotel, including television, a mini-bar, air-conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. Guests can take their pick from standard cabins through to the fabulous Grand Suite, which features its own ocean-view balcony. All staterooms feature soft bedding, luxurious bathrobes and tasteful décor.
Families will be sure to appreciate Thomson Destiny’s excellent range of child-friendly features. The Kidzone offers activities, and arts and crafts workshops for children under the age of 12. Guests can also find a good selection of children’s facilities, ranging from a child-friendly swimming pool to special menus aimed at younger passengers.

Facilities on Thomson Destiny
Dining onboard Thomson Destiny involves a terrific variety of different styles and cuisines. Visit the 24-hour Lido Café, with its self-service buffet of international dishes, and the weekly Buffet Magnifique – a culinary spectacular, where gourmet treats are served amongst ice sculptures and carved fruit! Alternatively, visit the Seven Seas Restaurant for formal dining. Here you can enjoy a fine five-course meal, and special events such as the Captain's Cocktail Party and Gala Dinner.
Entertainment is well catered for on Thomson Destiny, with a number of bars, cafés and lounges that offer evening entertainments. Chose from Broadway-style shows to live bands, karaoke and comedy evenings. Guests can visit a casino or a nightclub onboard, as well as the legendry Thomson Destiny deck parties!
Thomson Cruises’ Thomson Destiny boasts an excellent swimming pool, with plenty of space for sunbathing. If you prefer a more active way to unwind, then take a trip to the Sports Deck. Here guests can play badminton, basketball and table tennis, or take advantage of a good range of exercise machine and weights.
Other facilities onboard Thomson Destiny includes a range of shops, a cards room, a library and an Internet café.

I cruised with my mother (in her 80s). Great cruise. Loved Corsica and Ville Franche. Ship entertainment is generally very good. Loved the shows, found some of the entertainment crude. Top Men very good, ironically saw them again on a Valentine trip on DFDS seaways from Newcastle to Amsterdam. The staff are brilliant - loved them to bits, really cared for my mum. Thomson's really looked after us including the plane to ship transfers as mum is not very mobile. Check cabin choice, suggest high and midships.

This was our first cruise and I was a bit worried about the Destiny as I had read mixed views about the ship.We had a week on board sailing from Palma around the med.Cannot praise the ships crew more highly, everything done with a smile.We had outside cabins and they were larger than expected although I did hear people make comments about how small some of inside cabins were. The ship was spotless, and I did'nt think that it was dated and tatty like I had read in other reviews although I have nothing to compare it with. I would rather had older and clean than new and grubby, which I have experienced in some hotels. We paid the extra to have drinks onboard and found it well worthwhile, even just to cover the vast amounts of coke, lemonade and fanta that a 14 year old can consumme.It was also an expense that we did'nt have to worry about at the end of the week.The excursions were expensive but as my husband has difficulty walking, exploring on our own has become difficult so we appreciated being able to choose tours with not much walking involved. We went onshore at Nice/Monaco/Monte Carlo - Pisa - Rome - Corsica. We did'nt make the trip to Barcelona as we had visited the city before and wanted to relax a bit before the journey home. This is really a matter of choice and if you did go it alone it would be very much cheaper with all the information you would need available through the staff on board. Entertainment was excellent I was suprised at the effort put into the shows,the performances and costumes were very proffessional. Overall cannot rate this highly enough and I am already looking to book again next year.

i cannot fault any of the ships staff they were brilliant, even the cabin crew in a morning and at night always had a smile and so polite we even used to have a joke with them,catering waitnig staff exelent could not fault them one bit, entertainment spot on exelent, only thing wrong was when my wife and i went for our suitcases the morning we docked my was missing and my wife's suitcase which was hardback was broke in several places as it was done bringing the luggage off the ship apart from that we met some real nice people and staff, we will be going again next year on the same ship if we can get booked, bet holiday i have had and my wife in quite a few years, carry on the good work it was exelent thanks.

Having sailed on this ship as the Sunbird before, we were interested to see what changes there were under the Thomson management. In fact, we believed the cruise to be improved on in many ways. Firstly, the entertainment was top notch, most passengers that we spoke to commented on the high quality and as regular visitors to the musicals at our theatre. we thought the Destiny troupe were of the same high standard. The little touches like having live music on the pool deck at lunchtime, different choice of food at each end of the deck as well as the main restaurant, very good. But really the most impressive aspect of this ship is the attitude of its crew. I think this is why this ship has a loyal passenger base, we met a lot of people who like us, had cruised other supposedly more luxorious ships, yet they still came back to this ship. Yes I love cruising and have enjoyed every cruise we have had, but I really feel the Sunbird / Destiny has a real character.

7nts Colourful Coasts cruise 17th to 24th Nov 06 1st time with THOMSONS. Deck 2 outside cabin, forward. Excellent staff,entertainment.Excellent food especially in the Seven Seas Restaurant. Very good public areas and bars. Found the ship to be quite noisy whilst docking. and seemed to pitch and roll even in moderate seas.Didn't do much eating in the Lido Restaurant due to weather conditions but i am sure it would have been very nice in summer. Excursions a bit pricey but we tend to do our own thing anyway.Overall a good cruise at a fair price maybe a higher deck midships would solve the "noise" problem
